The executive team for 2016 would like to wish you all a safe Christmas and New Year! We hope that your holidays bring you much needed rest and joy in preparation for next year's events that we are planning for the society!
To celebrate, the executives shared their favourite kpop song of 2015. We hope that this is a nice, diverse range of songs that reflect kpop in 2015! And maybe perhaps, you discover a new song you may have not heard of before!
☆ Shajara (arc delegate) - 4 Walls by f(x)
"The song is beautifully arranged and the MV is the epitome of aesthetic"
☆ Crystal (marketing director) - If You Do by GOT7
The song is katchy and full of emotions, the dance is too kool!"
☆ Vi (dance director) - Hero by MONSTA X
"Sick beat, cool dance"
☆ Michelle (special events director) - OMGT by Madtown
"Because this particular song has a great beat and rhythm as well as the dance being so great!"
☆ Katharine (president) - Crazy by 4Minute
"Hands down the best song of 2015 for me due to the sick trap beats - where 4Minute decided to ditch Brave Brothers and come out with something outstanding. The styling for the music video really suited the concept too and Hyuna wasn't the only member that was placed in the spotlight this time! This song spread like an infection, within days people were learning the dance and dancing the dance! Even though they're not my bias group I hope they'll release something similar to this in the future!"
☆ Leon (special events director) - Only You by miss A
"how else are you supposed to find a song that sounds like my car horn, and you can slam the horn button in tune with the song while driving
-> profit"
☆ David (creative director) - Closer by Oh My Girl
""So come on come on come on come on..."
Oops sorry. It's just super catchy.
Closer is by far the best song Oh My Girl has released since debuting in April 2015. The combination of soothing strings, synths and soft layered vocals creates a song that just melts my heart. This underrated track gets my vote as best track of 2015 for being the song I could repeat over and over again without getting sick of it. The dance accompanying this track is also very pretty, incorporating a lot of blooming arm movements which work alongside formations to resemble the shape of many of the constellations. All this together works to creatively represent the message of the song.

☆ Jacky (vice president) - I Will Love You Like Now by 2BiC
"2BiC is a bias of mine. The song really shows off their skill with their vocals, as well as showing off their soulful voices. Although, the song seems underwhelming compared to the mainstream K-Pop with many elements, the simplicity allows you to really appreciate their voices."
☆ Lewis (dance director) - Hurt Locker by 9MUSES
"It's a club song with the special kpop touch. What's not to love?"
☆ Justin (secretary) - Run by BTS
"DASHI RUN RUN RUN~
My number one song of the year of course goes to my number one group! I've probably listened to it about 1000 times already in just less than a month LOL."
☆ Daisy (treasurer) - Bang Bang Bang by BIGBANG
"Big Bangs brings their BANG BANG BANG jam out in this song and I'm loving this song with its sick beats and great vocals from all the members with Taeyang smoothing vocals, GD & TOP sick raps and Daesung & Seungri great vocals. I feel engerised and always feel in a party mode whenever I heard this song and their opening live performance of this song at the Sydney concert was amazing!"
Do you agree or disagree with these choices? What are your favourite songs of 2015?
